Lee Scratch Perry. 28.7.16. Think Tank?


Opening his Black Art studio well over 40 years ago (1973) ‘Scratch’ has more than earned his title as godfather of dub through an output which makes even workaholics look lazy.

As both artist and producer, it’s not far reaching to compare him to Elvis and Philips (Sun studios) at the same time, or a Jamaican Brian Wilson.

Live, to an exceptionally disappointing small crowd, Scratch creates all of his audio tricks and sounds through his all star dub family.  Given his background in audio wizardy that’s not at easy task.  But they nail it.

Perry drinks champagne, shakes hands, dances, mimes out the actions of his words and
